Job Purpose:
The Windows Server Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the Windows Server Platform is functioning as required, responding to incident escalations, maintaining technical documentation, and reviewing/approving problem resolutions. In addition, Windows Server Engineers design and implement required changes to the environment and to our Windows Server images.
Windows Server engineers are also involved in project work, either matrixed with external project teams or working on Windows Server specific projects. The Windows Server engineer must be a subject matter expert able to collaborate in large diverse teams, and an excellent communicator with an ability to translate technical detail to less technical audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Provide major incident management and incident escalation support for the Windows Server Operations team.
Review and approve IT Problem resolution reports. - Ensuring that our Windows Server golden images are patched and updated in order to meet the client’s business requirements.
- Maintaining a good working knowledge of our PowerShell script library, adding new and modifying existing scripts where needed.
- Providing Windows Server subject matter expert support to the client’s projects.
- Keeping Windows Server related documentation up to date for qualification and compliance purposes.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience maintaining enterprise Windows Server environments (eg. image management, server deployment, Configuration management, patching, and software deployment).
- Extensive experience of scripting in PowerShell (desirable: knowledge of VMWare PowerCLI, the Azure PowerShell module, and AWS Tools for PowerShell).
- Good understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principals, for example – defining servers declaratively using YAML.
- Experience in documenting Windows Server environments.
- Good knowledge of Windows Server network configuration, virtual networking principals, network transport protocols (https, tcp/ip, udp, ..), DHCP, and DNS.
- Experience working with Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
- Experience working with the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).
- Working knowledge of Active Directory.

Preferred Experience:
- Coding/development experience, for example: working with REST APIs, JSON, YAML, Javascript (node.js/react).
- Experience working with container platforms.
Experience working with automation/orchestration/configuration management platforms. - Experience working in a heavily audited industry eg. pharma or banking.
Daily rate: 6000 CZK
