System Support Specialist in Cybersecurity

About the role:

As a System Support Specialist in IT Cybersecurity at DHL IT Services, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our information systems and data. You will be responsible for providing technical support, monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and assisting in the implementation of cybersecurity measures across the organization. Your expertise will help ensure that DHL’s IT infrastructure remains secure and compliant with industry standards.
We are team of cybersecurity professionals focused on endpoint security including Extended Endpoint Detection & Response (XDR), virtual patching, micro-segmentation services and Container Security. You will be responsible for securing the platform estate infrastructure covering hardware, operating systems, databases, middleware, backups, storage, containers etc. – devising technical security standard definitions, security monitoring, remediating issues, and ultimately improving approaches and postures based on best practices and lessons learnt.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Support:
    a. Provide first-level technical support for cybersecurity-related incidents and inquiries from employees.
    b. Assist users with issues related to access control, security software, and best practices for data protection.
  2. Monitoring and Incident Response:
    a. Continuously monitor security alerts and logs generated by various security tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
    b. Respond promptly to security incidents, conducting investigations and coordinating remediation efforts.
  3. System Maintenance:
    a. Assist in the maintenance and updating of security systems, applications, and infrastructure.
    b. Participate in the deployment of security updates, patches, and configurations to enhance system security.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    a. Document all security incidents, responses, and resolutions in accordance with internal processes.
    b. Prepare regular reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and overall system performance for
    management review.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management:
    a. Ensure compliance with DHL’s cybersecurity policies, standards, and relevant regulations.
    b. Assist in conducting risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security
    weaknesses.
  6. User Training and Awareness:
    a. Develop and deliver training sessions for employees to promote cybersecurity awareness and best
    practices.
    b. Create and distribute educational materials to enhance understanding of cybersecurity risks and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in IT support or cybersecurity roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with security technologies and tools (e.g., antivirus software, firewalls, SIEM systems).
  • Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • CompTIA Security+
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Key Points:

  • English language – min. B level, C level is preferred.
